City Pop
Airbrushed dusk from 1980s Japanese album covers: a night-blue sky, a striped sunset sun and a turquoise pool. Every card is a record sleeve, every audio-only scene is a cassette, and a late-night FM host keeps you on her frequency until the expressway empties out.
Palette
Night blue graded up into violet is the ground, with the sunset glow fixed along the bottom edge of the screen. Panels are deep navy-violet. Sunset coral marks what is primary, active or rated; turquoise pool water is the second accent, for focus, switches and success. Glints are pure white. Text is 15.3:1 on a panel, muted 9.9:1 and dim 6.5:1. Only the sun disc itself, low in the right corner, is too bright to read text over, so in Stash it stays down wherever full-width content crosses the horizon.
Type
Mr Dafoe, an 80s brush script, is kept for titles: the wordmark, section titles and the names on detail pages and performer cards. Her lines are Jost Light Italic, the thin Futura oblique of the era's liner notes. Jost carries everything else too, in tracked caps for labels, buttons and navigation. Zen Maru Gothic sets the few Japanese words, and the plugin carries only those characters. Every Japanese word the theme draws is listed below.

Motifs and glyphs
Six motifs drawn as airbrushed SVG: smooth gradients, crisp offset shadows and the white four-point glint of an 80s anime cel on anything glossy. The cassette is the audio-only cover and the loader, the striped sun is the rating and the signature, and the palms stand in the backdrop. The poolside at dusk and the pin-up on her pool float were rendered locally with Qwen-Image 2512 (Apache 2.0): the pool ships with the theme for empty lists, and the pin-up appears on this page only and hides in SFW mode. The flat glyphs are CSS masks, so they take any fill.
Buttons
Buttons are glossy enamel with a crisp airbrush shadow that sits under them like late sun. Primary is the sunset with navy type and a white glint on its corner; secondary is night violet. Success is pool turquoise, warning apricot, info sky blue and danger hot coral. Pressing pushes the button down onto its shadow, and joined buttons share one shadow.
Tags, ratings
and favourites
Tags are night-violet pills with a striped sun for a dot. A rating is a row of striped sunset suns, outlined when empty. The favourite is a glossy sunset heart with a white glint, and the O counter is a drop falling into a pool ripple, which becomes a cocktail in SFW mode. Click them and glints, suns and pool drops fly off.
Cards
Cards are record sleeves: a printed keyline inside the picture and a pressed crease for the rule. Hover lifts the sleeve off its shadow, sweeps a sunset across the picture, flashes a glint and shows the catalogue label, side and number, hidden at rest so forty cards never read as forty serial numbers. The rating is a small cassette-label sticker beside the checkbox, and progress is an FM dial. An audio-only scene, one with no video stream and no cover of its own, gets a cassette on a pool at dusk, its reels turning on hover.
Scenes page
The page you live on. The search well and its filter keys read as one control, joined buttons share one hard shadow, the count is printed like a dial scale and the pager is one strip with the current page in sunset. A list covers the horizon, so the backdrop sun stays down behind it and never sits behind a card.
Performer page
Her page is an open J-card, the paper insert of a cassette case. Her picture is the cover, cut to the J-card's own 2:3 and weighted to the top so any picture fits; Stash still opens the whole picture on a click. Her name runs down the spine on a cream strip with the sunset stripes, and her details are the flap's track listing, with dotted leaders. On a phone the spine lies flat under the cover.
Forms and menus
Inputs are night-blue wells, and focus draws a pool-turquoise ring. Menus are navy panels on the hard shadow, toasts carry the stripe band and speak in her light italic, tooltips are cream cassette labels, and a modal carries the stripe band under its title.
Stash-box
The Tagger stays flat and still, since you clear hundreds of rows. The chosen row gets a sunset edge and the chosen select a turquoise ring; the repeated buttons keep the sunset but not the glint. StashID links are a pool-blue tab with the ID on night violet, and in a scrape dialog the winning side's toggle is pool water.

Navigation
The navbar is the night sky with the J-card stripe band along its foot, and the active page is a sunset sticker. On a phone held upright Stash docks the bar at the bottom, and the band moves to its top edge. The open tab is underlined with a single sunset bar, and a tab's count is a small well that turns sunset when open.
Loading and empty
The loader is a cassette with both reels turning. An empty list shows the empty pool at dusk on a little record sleeve, and her line; without the voice it keeps the pool and drops the line.

Copy
A late-night FM host, in earnest: request postcards, the air check (taping a broadcast off the radio, the 1980s FM habit), side A and side B. She keeps you listening, praises you for it and makes you wait. Matches are exact and whole-text, so titles, tags and descriptions are never touched. Plain labels and Stash's SFW mode turn her off.
